The two RLCS Majors are done, and the four regional Last Chance Qualifiers are underway. Rocket League's Esports World Cup event runs August 12-16 in Paris before the World Championship opens September 15 in Fort Worth. That makes mid-July a useful checkpoint: who is actually the favorite for Worlds?
This is an editorial ranking, not a predictive model. We considered placement at the two 2026 Majors (Boston and Paris), official circuit standings, regional results, and BLAST's July 4 rolling team and player ratings. The eye test breaks ties; it does not turn the list into an algorithm. Here's our top 10.
1. Karmine Corp
Won Paris on home soil with a 4-1 dismantling of Twisted Minds, and did it the hard way — a 4-1 upper-bracket win over Gentle Mates, then a 4-3 survival of Vitality. Atow, Vatira, juicy. When this trio is right, the ceiling is the highest in the world. The Vatira GOAT case only grows from here. The one asterisk is the same one it's always been: they have never actually won Worlds.
2. Gentle Mates
Still our pick for the most complete team of the season. They opened the year by winning Boston 4-2 over Vitality. Paris was rougher: KC beat them 4-1 in the upper bracket before Twisted Minds eliminated them 4-2 for a 5th-6th finish.
Gentle Mates led BLAST's July 4 global team ranking, 1,969 points to KC's 1,936. That is separate from the RLCS circuit standings, where Karmine Corp led the European board 112-101. If KC represents the highest ceiling, Gentle Mates still offer the most reliable floor.
3. Team Vitality
The nearly-team. A Boston final loss, then a 4-3 semifinal defeat to the eventual champions in Paris. On BLAST's July 4 rolling player board, zen ranked sixth at 7.33. The gap between Vitality and a Major trophy is measured in single games, not series. They are one bracket break away from being ranked first here.
4. Twisted Minds
The MENA flag-bearers authored the run of the Paris Major. They advanced from the lower side through FUT, FURIA, and Gentle Mates, then beat Shopify Rebellion 4-3 in the semifinal. They ran out of gas against KC, but the takeaway is unchanged: this is a genuine top-four roster. M0nkey M00n also returns to Dickies Arena after winning both previous World Championships staged there, in 2021-22 and 2024.
5. Shopify Rebellion
Our highest-ranked North American team. Shopify went 3-0 in Group C at Paris, beat Manchester City 4-1 from the upper bracket, then lost 4-3 to Twisted Minds in the semifinal for a joint 3rd-4th finish. That tied NRG's Boston result for the best NA Major placement of 2026. Lj, kofyr, and Firstkiller have the mechanical ceiling to trouble anyone; the question is whether they can sustain it through the full Worlds bracket.
6. NRG
The defending World Champions have not hit the heights of their Lyon run consistently this season. They finished joint 3rd-4th in Boston but only 9th-12th in Paris. Atomic, BeastMode, and Daniel have already proved they can win the title together, and they get to defend the crown on North American soil. Rank them on current form; respect them on résumé.
7. Team Falcons
MENA's second Worlds seed and still one of the most talented rosters outside Europe. Rw9, Kiileerrz, and dralii finished joint 3rd-4th in Boston but did not qualify for Paris. The ceiling is clear; the season-to-season consistency is not. In a hybrid-elimination playoff, that variance cuts both ways.
8. Virtus.pro
The quiet NA story of the season. Steady regional points, a top-four NA seed, and none of the hype that follows Shopify or NRG. That's exactly the profile of a team that ruins someone's Worlds on day three. Underrated by everyone but the bracket.
9. Ninjas in Pyjamas
Europe is so deep that a legitimately strong roster lands ninth. NiP grabbed a Worlds seat off the EU board and qualified for both Majors, finishing 7th-8th in Boston and 9th-12th in Paris. That résumé is not title-favorite material, but it is enough to keep Europe's fourth seed in our global top 10.
10. MIBR
MIBR secured South America's top seed by edging FURIA 88-86 in the regional standings. They finished 9th-12th at both Boston and Paris. That consistency earns them our final slot over Manchester City, FURIA, and TSM, even if the international ceiling remains unproven.
Just missed
Manchester City Esports (a 5th-6th at Paris says they belong in this conversation), FURIA, and TSM — all already qualified for Worlds — plus the teams still fighting for four LCQ seats. The European logjam is genuinely absurd this year, but the cross-region ordering remains an editorial judgment rather than a direct comparison of circuit points.
The one-line version
Karmine Corp are our favorites, Gentle Mates are the most reliable contender, Vitality are our upside pick, and the whole thing runs through a European gauntlet that North America gets to answer at home. We'll revisit this board the week of Worlds — and fully expect at least two of these placements to age terribly.
